Contracts
Contracts are formal agreements that define the scope, payment, and terms of work between a client and a freelancer. They are established after a successful job application or direct hire, and serve as a binding record of the relationship throughout the project lifecycle.
Contract Creation
- Contracts can be initiated from a job application or directly via a freelancerβs profile.
- Each contract links one client to one freelancer to ensure clear accountability.
- Payment terms are based on the bid agreed upon during application or negotiation.
- Start and end dates define the expected timeline of the project.
- A custom Terms field allows parties to add any special clauses or expectations.
Contract Statuses
- Pending: Contract has been drafted but not yet accepted or started.
- Active: The contract is ongoing, and work is in progress.
- Completed: All deliverables have been met and the contract is officially closed.
- Terminated: The contract ended prematurely, possibly due to cancellation or dispute.
Contract Management
Contracts are limited to freelancers as the hired party. To ensure logical timelines, the start date must be set before the end date. Optional supporting documents, such as proposals or NDAs in PDF or DOCX format, can be attached to contracts for additional clarity and reference.
